Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
