The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
