'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the dramatic final moments of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game ended with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a powerful strike from distance, and the defender immediately slammed home the deflection before charging toward the crowd to mark the goal, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

This sealed an incredible recovery given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. During the delirium, there was some collateral damage. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator shouting out and Josh Key and I were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory booked a upcoming match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with Jamie Donley's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that distance," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right wing-back after the team changed formation. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the basics and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at dictate and slow down a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on every second of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and concentration just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he linked up again with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a loan at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Learning Curve

"I was likely a slightly green going into senior level. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without real physicality. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that development for both domestically and internationally, performing well for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including two matches fixtures against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his eye for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the youngster from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's single match for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the arena covering was closed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "This represented a long trip and it was chilly," he comments, grinning. "The days leading up, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I understood I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, Ronald, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to interact with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. Franco is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on public transport after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
